Overnight in Vilnius.

Today we invite you to visit the regional park of Pavilniai. You will enjoy a path of amazing beauty along the river, winding trails through the hills and forests, and soothing views – a chance to relax and immerse yourself in nature. The incredible thing is that this wild landscape is found within the city limits of the capital!

Overnight in Vilnius.

Today you will have a train trip to the cozy medieval town of Trakai. This small but impressive town is just 30 km from the capital. The ancient capital of Lithuania will not leave anyone indifferent to its beauty – it is a real oasis, surrounded by many blue lakes; in the middle of one of them stands the impressive Trakai Castle, which we will of course invite you to visit.
Once a significant and powerful city, today the town enjoys the tranquility and status of a summer resort with only 5,000 inhabitants. The town is also famous for the Karaite community that has lived here since the 14th century, producing kibinai that are considered best local pastries in the area.
Not surprisingly, this town is beloved by Lithuanians as well as tourists. They often come here for one day – just to walk around and admire the wonderful views.
In Trakai you will take a special bridge to the Varnikai Reserve. There you will travel through an old forest and meadows. Here you will find an acquaintance with rich natural biodiversity.

Overnight in the countryside BnB near Trakai.

On this day, there is a long way to Rusne Island, but there is no need to worry, the views along the way will be spectacular and the destination fascinating.
In the west of Lithuania, we will visit a bird watching place, the ornithological station Vente Horn. This is not only a beautiful corner of the earth but also a very important site for bird watchers. Millions of birds fly through every year during the autumn and spring migration!
Another impressive walk awaits you around the Aukštumala Upland. This swamp is one of the most famous in the world! It was also the first to be scientifically studied by botanist Carl Albert Weber. Don’t worry, it’s completely safe to walk here – there are special trails, and plenty of information about animals, plants and history all along the road. And, of course, amazing landscapes.
In the afternoon you will reach your accomodation in Rusne, where you will have dinner.

Overnight in 3-star Rusne.

Today we will travel to a unique geographical marvel, the Curonian Spit – a narrow patch of land stretching between the Curonian Lagoon and the Baltic Sea. We will travel to this corner of paradise in one of two ways: weather permitting, we will sail through the Curonian Lagoon; if not, we will reach the peninsula by bus.
On this peninsula, we will visit one of the most favorite Lithuanian resort towns: Nida. This paradise on earth boasts impressive sand dunes, which are also a UNESCO World Heritage site. After visiting the Parnidis dune, you will see a breathtaking view of the “Lithuanian Death Valley,” and reach the Nida lighthouse, which shows the way for ships on both sides of the peninsula. Here you can take a walk around the town, swim in the sea or sunbathe on the sandy beaches. Don’t miss the stunning sunset, when the sea and the lagoon meet on the horizon.

Overnight in Nida or Preila/Pervalka if not available.

On the sixth day of the trip, a trip to Latvia, to the city of Bauska, awaits us.
Bauska has been a multinational trading center for centuries, and today its atmosphere still exudes that feeling. The main town square is crowned by the recently rebuilt town hall and is surrounded by buildings that are over a hundred years old.
After admiring the city’s old town, we will visit the Bauska Nature Park, where a pathway will allow you to take a romantic walk along the picturesque banks of the Memel River. Following this road, you will reach the Bauska Castle and Kirbaksala, where the Musa and Memel rivers merge into the Lielupe river.
You will arrive late in the afternoon at your resting place in a Latvian manor house, where you will spend the rest of the evening in your free time.

Overnight in Latvian countryside – Mezotne palace or similar.

After breakfast, we will travel further to a Latvian village and visit the famous Gauja National Park.
This park is often referred to by locals as Latvia’s Switzerland, and is the largest and oldest of Latvia’s national parks, with great biodiversity, a variety of terrain, natural springs, sandstone outcrops, scenic views, and unique natural, cultural and historical monuments.
On this day you will have a very scenic walk in Sigulda and a walk through the ruins of a medieval castle, hills, caves, rocks, spectacular forests, and beautiful views of the Gauja River valley.

Overnight in Sigulda/Cesis.

Today we will reach the beautiful Latvian capital Riga! Founded in 1201 by the German bishop Albert, Riga is the largest of the three Baltic capitals and boasts a true kaleidoscope of architectural styles.
Winding through narrow streets and ancient alleys in this impressive city, you will discover places to visit and a few hidden corners. Excursions around the Old Town include Riga Castle, Dome Cathedral, St. Peter’s Church, the Swedish Gate, the Three Brothers, the House of the Great and Little Guilds, and the Freedom Monument.

Overnight in Riga.

After the trip, there always comes that sad time to say goodbye. But we always hope to see you again soon!
